Flight for Hope

Flight for Hope was a ‘Round the World’ solo flight in a small, single-engine aircraft, that generated substantial contributions to Canadian charity “Home Suite Hope” and awareness to aligned charities around the world.

The Route.

Canada - Greenland - Iceland - Scottland - Wales - Spain - Italy - Greece - Egypt - UAE - Pakistan - India - Sri Lanka - Malaysia - Indonesia - Australia - New Caledonia - Fiji - American Samoa - Kiribati - Hawaii USA - Califonia USA - Canada.

The Airplane.

The Aircraft Callum used was a heavily modified Beechcraft, V35B Bonanza featuring a suite of Garmin Avionics and Auto-pilot. The engine was a Continental IO-520-BB normally aspirated, Lightweight MT carbon prop. Additionally, the airplane has a standard range of 800 nautical miles (5 hrs of flight), which was reconfigured to be able to fly over 18 hours and 2200nm.

The Pilot.

Callum was born and raised in Oakville, Ontario. In 2020 Callum earned his Private Pilots certificate with Spectrum Airways in Burlington Ontario, followed soon after with successful completion of the instrument rating. Callum has had the “aviation bug” since a child. It was only a couple of years ago he received his Medical Certificate allowing him to pursue his passion for flight.
